Pastor Trish was ordained in May, 2015, and began her call here at Messiah on December 1, 2018. She and her husband Steve make their home near Rapidan on the Reedstrom family farm. Both grew up in and around Lake Crystal, and they have three adult children: Liz, Megan and Daniel, and one grandson, Jacob. Prior to ministry, Pastor Trish worked as a social worker for many years, including almost 20 years with Blue Earth County Human Services. She served people with developmental disabilities, mental illness, chemical dependency issues, vulnerable adults, and child protection, and also worked as a supervisor for a variety of programs. She loves her second career, and especially loves the opportunity and privilege that comes with walking alongside people during times of joy and times of sorrow. In her free time she usually has her nose in a book, but you might also find her in her yard, at a yoga class, playing a little piano, quilting, biking, or attending “stamp camp”!
Intern Pastor Janet Adams started her internship at Messiah in June 2019. She is part of a new, 2 year, intensive program at Luther Seminary called MDivX, which has also been termed a “holy experiment.” She is grateful to the members of Messiah for allowing her to serve her 2 year internship with them. Janet came from Houston, TX to St. Olaf College to study music and religion. She also has a masters degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas, and retired last year from 15 years of service with the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office in Red Wing, MN. As the program coordinator, Janet coordinated all the services for the detainees held in the county jail. Though she misses the people she worked with, she is also happy “to be out of jail.” She considered it a privilege to serve so many people with so many stories. Janet and her husband John (from Janesville) moved from Goodhue to Mankato in April 2019 to be closer to John’s family (3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and his siblings) who live in the area. Janet has three adult children that all live in Minnesota: Sarah, Joseph and Emma. Janet loves people and learning, especially through stories of God’s love and faithfulness throughout all of time.
Jan has been with Messiah since 2008 and she loves being in the office and Sharing the Love of Jesus with God’s people here at Messiah. She grew up in Menomonie, WI (yes, she’s a Packer fan & likes cheese) and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. She married Cyle Gruver in 2004 and they moved to Saint Peter. Jan worked at Star Tribune in Minneapolis for 22 years in various roles until 2008 – everything from customer service to budget analyst. After leaving Star Tribune, Jan also worked part-time as a Financial Worker for Nicollet County and as Office Manager for the Arts Center of Saint Peter. When she’s not working, Jan loves to spend time with her family, read, fish, canoe, hike, play cards, travel, and to make jewelry and pottery. It’s hard to fit it all in!
Robin joined Messiah's staff in November 2019 as the communications specialist. She's excited about being able to share her gifts and talents as well as learn new skills and meet new people. Robin grew up in Wells, MN and graduated from United South Central High School in 2012. She attended the University of Northwestern, St. Paul where she got her degree in Christian Ministry. Robin has been in Mankato since 2015 working for the school district, Hilltop United Methodist Church, and TCF Bank. She and her husband Sam got married in July 2019 and they have a dog named Zucker. Robin likes to spend her time with family, especially her nieces and nephews, exercising, reading, playing games, doing puzzles, going for walks, or playing tennis.
Cindy has been serving at Messiah for three years and enjoys leading the band, directing the choir, and engaging the congregation in singing praises to our Lord for worships! She welcomes anyone to join in singing with the choir and or letting her know of any instrumentalists that would like to participate! What a priviledge to serve with all the disciples of Messiah!
To God be the Glory!
